Junior Risk Manager

Amsterdam (Zuid) | Hybrid (50%) | Start date: ASAP

Norinchukin Bank Europe (NBE) is looking for a Junior Risk Manager who wants to build a strong foundation in banking, risk management, and data, within an international environment where learning, responsibility, and collaboration are central.

This role is well suited for early-career professionals who are looking for a steep learning curve, broad exposure, and the opportunity to actively contribute to a growing risk function.

Norinchukin Bank Europe N.V. (NBE) is the European subsidiary of The Norinchukin Bank, one of Japan’s largest and most established financial institutions, founded in 1923. The Role

As a Junior Risk Manager, you will support a broad range of financial risk management activities while developing practical knowledge of how a bank operates in a regulated environment. You will work closely with senior risk managers and collaborate with colleagues from Finance, Treasury, and IT.

The role combines risk analysis, regulatory exposure, data handling, and reporting, and offers the opportunity to build strong technical and analytical skills early in your career.

What you will do

  • We are looking for a motivated and analytically minded professional who enjoys working in a developing organisation.

    You bring:

    • 1–3 years of experience in banking, financial services, consultancy, or a related analytical role

    • Strong Excel skills and an affinity with data and systems

    • Interest in banking regulation and financial risk management (prior knowledge is a plus, not a requirement)

    • Clear communication skills and the ability to work with different stakeholders

    • A proactive mindset and willingness to learn

    • A collaborative mindset and a passion for building and improving processes from the ground up

    • You thrive in international, multicultural environments.

    Fluency in English is required. Dutch or Japanese is an advantage but not mandatory.
